Clinical Trials

The Section on Infectious Diseases along with its partners in the basic sciences, Clinical Microbiology, and Department of Pathology are actively engaged in clinical trials across the translational research continuum. These trials include industry sponsored trials for vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics, as well as trials sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are home to exceptional faciltities and include a dedicated infectious diseases clinical trials group to support our clinical trials efforts. We also use advanced analytics and data science to support our clinical trials recruitment and enrollment efforts.

Facilities

Clinical Trials Center

We are home to a dedicated infectious diseases clinical trials center with the following features:

  • 8 exam rooms with 6 negative pressure rooms with infusion chairs & TVs
  • Space for Investigational Pharmacy to dispense study drugs
  • Offices for Study Coordinators and Research Nurses
  • Laboratory containing hood for aliquoting, centrifuge, -20 and -80 freezer and refrigerator

Infectious Disease Outpatient Clinic​

  • Two research exam rooms

Resources

The Section on Infectious Diseases has a dedicated support team​ which includes:

  • Project Manager​
  • Two Research Nurses​
  • 8 Study Coordinators​
  • Capacity to recruit and enroll study participants from both the inpatient and outpatient settings

Additionally, we partner with Javara to rapidly flex capacity​ and expand our recruitment efforts.
